Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A tragic incident occurred at gate number two of Ikkon Park in the New Town police station area, resulting in the death of a woman who was riding a bike.
The victim, identified as 23-year-old IT employee Swagata Ghosh, was riding as a pillion passenger on the bike and was killed instantly, while the bike rider sustained severe injuries. The police have arrested the driver of the car involved in the accident and have initiated an investigation into the matter.
According to the available information, Swagata was returning home from her office on the night of Monday and Tuesday, riding on the back of a bike. As they neared Eco Park Gate No. 2, a private car suddenly collided with the rear of the bike, resulting in the woman's tragic death and causing the bike rider to fall and sustain injuries.
Upon receiving the news, the Ecopark police station authorities promptly reached the scene, rescued the injured bike rider, and immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Investigations are currently underway to determine the circumstances leading to the accident and to gather further evidence related to the case.
